An innovative start up, BladeBUG came to Pier with a big ask; getting coverage where it really counted to help raise awareness of the brand

We got to work creating an innovative campaign to promote BladeBUG in key trade media, hitting audiences to grab the attention of potential investors and really promote the company’s innovation in robotics

Impact

In the first six months alone we reached an estimated 5.7 million people through influential renewables trade media, from Energy Voice and ReNews to OffshoreWind.biz and Utility Week. Through our contacts we even snagged BladeBUG a coveted spot at Global Offshore Wind in Manchester, showcasing the BladeBUG robot to key industry stakeholders and even government ministers

Overview

BladeBUG is at the forefront of delivering change to the wind inspections industry. The team is developing a suite of industry-standard tools to pair with its innovative crawling robot for wind farm developers and owners to use to more easily scale, inspect and repair any defects to these massive structures. Pier was tasked with creating an innovative comms campaign to raise awareness of BladeBUG and its robot across the UK and Europe.

Story

Through headline-grabbing news pieces to thought-leadership pieces focusing on the future of wind and robotics, Pier has placed BladeBUG at the forefront of the industry. Featuring regularly in key trade titles thanks to our media contacts and news opportunities, we unpicked natural news stories and promoted CEO and founder Chris Cieslak as a major player in the future of the wind industry.

From first person pieces in PES magazine and Utility Week, to promoting the new concept BladeBUG robot and the news the company had halved deployment time of its robot compared with humans, Pier maximised every opportunity to ensure BladeBUG was routinely featured in the media.

Altogether we achieved more than 30 pieces of coverage, with a total estimated reach of 5.7 million.
