Pier PR & Marketing shortlisted for 10 industry awards

Pier PR & Marketing has been shortlisted for 10 awards in the 2018 CIPR (Chartered Institute of Public Relations) East Anglia PRide Awards 2018; more nominations than any other organisation in the region. The nominations recognise Pier’s work with the East of England Co-op.

As well as nominations in some of the PRide Award’s biggest categories, Pier has also been shortlisted in the top prize, Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy.

Managing director, Kate Bowden Smith, commented: “It is always exciting to be recognised by our industry and peers, and we are incredibly proud to have in this, our landmark tenth year, earned ten nominations for our expertise which helps our clients drive sales and build reputation.”

Nominated for five awards (Best Use of Media Relations, Low Budget Campaign, Consumer Relations Campaign, Corporate and Business Communications Campaign and Regional Campaign of the Year) was Pier’s launch of the East of England Co-op’s ‘Co-op Guide to Dating’.

This initiative saw the East of England Co-op become the first major retailer to sell products past their Best Before date for just 10p. Pier ensured this important announcement went global, with multiple TV networks, radio stations and national newspaper front pages all covering this innovative move to reduce food waste.

In four categories (Best Use of Content, Best Use of Media Relations, Best Use of Photography / Design and Regional Campaign of the Year) is Pier’s work on the ‘Future of British Produce’ campaign for the East of England Co-op’s Sourced Locally Fortnight.

Pier devised the campaign to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the award-winning Sourced Locally initiative. Pier commissioned a unique portrait by renowned photographer Jenny Lewis of ten inspiring women in East Anglia who are helping to lead the future of food and drink production, resulting in ample coverage by the media including the Daily Mail.

The CIPR award winners will be announced at an awards dinner on the 15th November 2018.
