Pier, the award-winning PR and communications agency, has added one of the UK’s leading global food suppliers to its burgeoning client list.
Surya Foods has appointed Pier to deliver consumer PR for some of its key brands, including the launch of new Korean sauce range Sun Hee into Tesco and the launch of Humza’s Halal frozen turkeys into Asda and Morrisons, the first of their kind in a major UK supermarket.
Pier’s specialist food and drink team is delivering a mix of media relations and influencer engagement as part of the brief, as well as activity with Humza’s brand ambassador, former Masterchef winner and cookbook author, Saliha Mahmood Ahmed.
Earlier this month, the integrated agency announced it had added Del Monte® to its books on a retainer basis following a competitive pitch. Some of Pier’s other food and drink clients include Greene King, Treatt and Pure spreads.
Harry Dulai, managing director at Surya Foods, said: “Pier’s experience in the food and drink sector is second to none, so when we were looking for an agency to support us with these important new product launches they were our first choice. The Pier team has hit the ground running; their passion and enthusiasm shines through and they have already generated significant media interest.”
Amy Bendall, managing director at Pier, added: “The food and drink division at Pier is going from strength to strength. Surya Foods is a major player in world foods so it is with real pride that we caretake Humza, a well-known and trusted Halal brand. Sun Hee lands at an exciting time as Korean food is rapidly growing in popularity. Pier’s savvy PR team will tap into trends like these to maximise opportunities for Surya Foods through consumer media relations and influencer engagement.”
In addition to its food and drink division, Pier’s other area of expertise is renewable energy. Its dedicated renewables team works with some big hitting clients including RWE, ScottishPower Renewables and the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult.
