Suffolk’s leading renewables PR and marketing agency, Pier, is celebrating after scooping silver at the prestigious CIPR PRide Awards for its work on ScottishPower Renewables’ East Anglia ONE wind farm.
Pier, which this week moved to new offices in Ipswich, took home the coveted award in the Construction, Property or Infrastructure Campaign category.
The team’s entry highlighted its innovative work for developer ScottishPower Renewables, which successfully raised the profile of its £2.5billion investment in its offshore wind farm, East Anglia ONE.
Amy Bendall, managing director at Pier, said she was thrilled with the result.
She said: “As a standout leader in providing PR in the renewable energy sector, Pier’s work for ScottishPower Renewables demonstrates how we elevated a major energy infrastructure project into the public sphere and used our creativity, insight and experience to over deliver in every area.
“Renewable energy is a cornerstone of the UK’s Net Zero ambitions and engaging the public over how this can become part of everyday life is key. This was at the heart of our PR support for East Anglia ONE, and, to put it simply, the team nailed it, expertly led by our head of renewables, Sophie Fraser.
“This award is the icing on the cake of an incredibly successful campaign. We could not be prouder.”
It is the latest in a string of good news for Pier in recent weeks.
Just last month, Amy Bendall was promoted to Managing Director while Founder Kate Bowden Smith became CEO. And this week, Pier is looking forward to starting a new chapter in Ipswich after moving its office from Felixstowe.
Amy added: “We are really looking forward to continuing to put our renewable clients at the forefront of an exciting industry.”
Pier was founded in 2008 by Kate Bowden Smith and has a team of 18 working across global, national and regional accounts. Offering an integrated communications service, the business has specialist divisions in renewable energy and food & drink. Clients include ScottishPower Renewables, RWE, Greene King, and Homepride.
