Felixstowe PR agency Pier scooped an impressive three awards in the East Anglian PRide awards 2011, which recognise excellence and achievement in the public relations industry. Pier was shortlisted in five categories, with more nominations than any other organisation in the region, and the team were not disappointed – picking up two gold and one silver at the awards ceremony organised by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
Held at the impressive Newmarket Racecourse, this is the second year that Pier has entered the awards and the team were delighted to have scooped awards in the following categories: Gold for Corporate and Business Communications (Breathing Buildings) and Not-for Profit (Rainbow Trust, Trust in Fashion) and Silver for Best Use of Media Relations (Ken Hom Chinese New Year).
Speaking from the gala dinner, Pier Director, Kate Bowden Smith said: “Pier has had another fantastic year and we are thrilled to have won these awards. The team has worked incredibly hard to make the company successful and I’d like to thank them for their enthusiasm and commitment, as well as our clients for their continued support.”
Set up in 2008, Pier has found its niche by offering businesses strategic consultancy and brilliant results without the fees of London based PR agencies. Already working for clients across multiple sectors, new clients this year include: leading consumer foods company, Kerry Foods; transport management systems provider, Fargo Systems and leading East Anglian law firm Prettys.
The CIPR PRide Awards have grown in strength and stature this year; recognising public relations success and achievement in the nations and regions, there were in excess of 1,000 entries to this year’s awards.
