English wine is in serious growth – and Suffolk is at the forefront of that industry. Since Covid, numerous new vineyards across Suffolk have emerged, leading to calls for stronger marketing support, including from James Cartlidge MP.
Mid Suffolk & Babergh and West Suffolk District Councils commissioned Pier to deliver a feasibility study to understand if there were enough vineyards – with a strong enough proposition to attract tourists to the region.
The resulting study led to the launch of the Suffolk Wine Trail, hosted by Visit Suffolk.
To bring the Suffolk Wine Trail to life, Pier worked to establish the viability of the featured vineyards, ensuring they met a minimum criteria for visitors.
With sufficient data to kick-start the campaign, a vibrant brand was created using a distinctive orange.
Once established, a partnership with Visit Suffolk was established to host the Suffolk Wine Trail. The natural home for this campaign, Pier also delivers social media posts across Visit Suffolk channels as well as paid social media campaigns to drive digital traffic.
PR and influencer work secured quality earned media coverage, such as the number 2 spot in this Wanderlust list of Britain’s 8 Best Wine Trails.
Thank you to Mid Suffolk and Babergh, West Suffolk and East Suffolk District Councils for funding the campaign. Delivered with pride by Pier’s food & beverage PR specialists.
