1.
Provide specialist organic social media services to support the delivery of Supreme Petfoods, a leading brand in the small pet food market, across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Pinterest, primarily through working with content creators.
2.
When Pier started working with Supreme Petfoods, they already had a strong brand, a loyal customer base, and a hard-working content strategy.
Pier’s task was to became a trusted guardian of the social media strategy and support with content ideation, creator management, scheduling content, and refining the overall pet brand social media strategy.
Using content creators, Pier maximised reach and built on Supreme Petfoods’ existing strategy to create content that struck the right balance between educational, entertaining, and on brand. We also increased the trend led content on the channels, adjusting trends to align with the brand and posting these pieces of content where we knew they would land best; TikTok and Instagram.
3.
Through trend-savvy content and ongoing strategic refinements, Pier amplified reach and engagement across Supreme Petfoods’ social channels, achieving an organic combined reach of over 2m and an average engagement rate of 9%.
Supreme Petfoods had already laid a strong foundation for their social media channels, with a clear understanding of what their audience needed and wanted. Pier wasn’t brought on board to start from scratch and divert from what was already working. We were there to take the well thought-out pet brand social media strategy and evolve it using our creative, data-driven social media expertise.
We worked across five key social platforms – Facebook, Instagram, TiKTok, YouTube Shorts and Pinterest – to create engaging, insight-led content that resonated with Supreme Petfoods’ pet loving audience.
We audited their existing content to really get a feel for what was working, utilised audience listening and applied our weekly trend reviews to shape content that was social friendly and on brand. We began introducing trend led content to connect with audiences in a fresh way, adapting them so they made sense for the brand while staying true to the original trend. These posts performed particularly well on Instagram, our adapted “camera flip” trend video achieved nearly 30k video views alone, helping drive higher engagement and audience growth.
We also created content to support the launch of new products and ranges such as the Botanicals range. We understand that ‘salesy’ content doesn’t resonate with social audiences, so we weaved educational storytelling into product focused posts to amplify awareness and drive trial.
From the offset, our partnership with Supreme Petfoods was focused on evolution and elevating what was already in place. Pier became an extension of Supreme Petfoods’ in house team and used our industry expertise to supercharge their pet brand social media strategy and boost performance across all social platforms. We are also an agency of pet owners and pet lovers, and MD Amy stayed close to this account to bring small pet ownership knowledge (from two her two bunnies – pictured!) to our output.
Our content ideas were rooted in data and audience insight. For example, when we posted a video on the average lifespan on guinea pigs, which resonated strongly with followers, a follower requested the same content for rabbits, which we then created. Listening to the Supreme audience helped us build trust with the engaged pet parent community and positioned Supreme as the go-to brand for educational pet content.
We paired educational content with irresistibly cute pet videos to capture follower’s hearts (and likes). Throughout it all, we monitored social trends weekly, jumping on those that could be adapted for the brand. Supreme Petfoods had delivered trend based content before, but these tailored trends quickly became some of the highest performing posts for the brand, particularly on Instagram, and this approach remains part of their evolved strategy.
Pet parents are the beating heart behind the brand, so it was fitting that content was powered by Supreme Petfoods’ own community. Many of the creators were new to content creation, juggling it alongside their day-to-day lives and jobs. Through our role we strived to make the process as easy as possible for our creators, drafting clear, concise content briefs and offering creative direction. This combined with our creators’ natural love for the brand that came through in every post, gave us a winning formula for social media success.
Each quarter, we took a step back to review progress and learnings to refine our approach. We pivoted content themes, introduced voiceovers, diversified our portfolio of pets, and leaned into new creators.
The results? A steady increase in reach, followers, and engagement, driven by an organic content strategy that educated and inspired Supreme Petfoods’ audiences with plenty of cute and trend led moments sprinkled in to keep them coming back to the channels. Across our year-long partnership, Pier helped Supreme Petfoods’ social content reach an audience of over 2m.
