The PCA appoints Pier

We've got a new client in the pub industry

Have you ever dreamed of running a pub? For those who want to turn their dreams into a reality, taking a tenancy agreement with a pub company is a great option.

There are multiple pub companies in the UK and six of those in England and Wales have more than 500 ‘tied’ pubs – Admiral, Greene King, Marston’s, Punch Pubs, Star Pubs & Bars and Stonegate. These pubs are all subject to a law called the Pubs Code, which protects the rights of tied pub tenants of these companies.

The Pubs Code was created to ensure tied pub tenants and pub-owning companies have a fair relationship, allowing tenants’ businesses to succeed. The Pubs Code Adjudicator (PCA) is responsible for enforcing the Pubs Code – and earlier this year Pier successfully tendered for the communications remit for the PCA.

With our teams’ background in pubs, beer and law, we were in a great position to win this, and are incredibly grateful to the PCA Fiona Dickie and her team for putting their trust in us.

Our remit includes PR and campaigns, strategy, event management, content and brand identity.
